THE NOTEBOOK [ FREE KNOW-HOW ]
Sometimes the best business tool is a sharp pencil. Here are three notes worth keeping.
1. A lead is not a sale. A reply is not a process.
Marketing can generate interest while your business quietly loses customers between the form and the first useful response. Put an owner on every lead, define the next action, measure how long it takes. A 12-field CRM is not a sales system unless someone reliably moves the deal forward.
2. Your website is not the project. The customer task is.
Visitors rarely come to admire a homepage. They came to compare, trust, buy, ask or solve something. Map one real task first; make the next step unmistakable; prove it works on a phone. Elegant animations cannot repair a broken conversion path.
3. Automate the boring things — but only after fixing them.
Automating inconsistent judgement reproduces mistakes at industrial speed. First separate standard cases from exceptions, decide what requires human review, then test on real historical examples. Only now connect APIs and models.
